The Mercruiser 9.7GHP 454 7.4L Carburetor Arrestor V8 is a high-performance, reliable, and efficient outboard engine designed for mid-sized boats. This engine is part of Mercruiser's 9.7GHP series, which is known for its power, durability, and advanced features.

The engine is powered by a carbureted 7.4L (454 cubic inch) V8 displacement, which delivers an impressive power output of up to 360 horsepower at 5600 RPM. This makes it an ideal choice for boaters who demand high performance and quick acceleration.

One of the notable features of this engine is its Carburetor Arrestor system. This system is designed to prevent the ingression of water into the carburetor, which can cause damage and reduce engine performance. The system uses a water separator and an automatic water drain to keep the carburetor dry and functioning optimally.

The 9.7GHP 454 7.4L Carburetor Arrestor V8 is also equipped with a number of advanced features to enhance its performance and durability. These features include:

* Digital Electronic Controls (DEC) for easy and precise engine adjustments

* Closed-Loop Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system for improved combustion efficiency and reduced emissions

* Three-stage gearcase with a 1.85:1 ratio for excellent hole-shot performance and top end speed

* Dual Water Pumps for improved cooling and reliability

* Aluminum alloy gearcase and propeller shaft for reduced weight and increased durability

* Heavy-duty, marine-grade materials for prolonged use in harsh marine environments

The engine is also designed to be easy to install and maintain. It comes with a number of factory-installed options, such as a power trim and tilt system, a freshwater flushing system, and a raw water washdown pump. It also has easily accessible service points and a maintenance-free alternator for added convenience.

In summary, the Mercruiser 9.7GHP 454 7.4L Carburetor Arrestor V8 is a powerful, reliable, and advanced outboard engine that is ideal for mid-sized boats. Its Carburetor Arrestor system ensures that the engine stays dry and performs optimally, while its advanced features and easy maintenance make it a great choice for boaters who demand the best.

Details:

Came off a 1995 7.4l Mercruiser 454. Been in the garage for 6 months. Converted to fuel injected. Make sure this fits your applications.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with this when I took it off. Also has the carb spacer.
